Contact lists are used to group contacts together, so that surveys can easily be distributed to every individual in the list. The steps below assume you have already created your contact list.
Contacts can be added to a contact list in 4 ways:
For new contacts:
- Add a single contact to a contact list
- Add all contacts to a contact list while importing/updating contacts in bulk
For existing contacts:
- Add select contacts to a contact list via the user interface in bulk
- Add select contacts to a contact list via the contact list import tool in bulk
To add a new contact to a contact list:
- Navigate to the Contact Center in Survey Admin
- Select the list you would like to add a contact to
- Click on the + Create button within the contact list

To add new contacts to a contact list in bulk:
- Navigate to the Contact Center in Survey Admin
- Select the 'All'
- Click on the triple-dot action menu and select 'Import contacts'
4. Download the template file (this will include any custom fields for your organization) and update the file with the details for the contacts that you wish to import.
5. Upload the file, then search for the contact list that you wish to add contacts to within the 'Add to existing contact list(s)' field. Certify your permission to contact the emails provided and select continue.
6. Follow the prompts to complete the process.
Note: This process WILL create contacts and will update any existing contacts with the information provided. Warnings will be presented where contacts will be updated.
To add existing contacts to a contact list in bulk:
- Navigate to the Contact Center in Survey Admin
- Select the 'All' contacts list
- Select the contacts that you wish to add to a contact list
- Select the 'Add to Contact List' options and then select the contact list
To add existing contacts to a contact list via the contact list import tool in bulk:
- Navigate to the Contact Center in Survey Admin
- Select the list you would like to add contacts to
- Click on the triple-dot action menu within the contact list
- Select Import contacts
5. Download the template and populate it with the list of contact emails you would like to add to the list.
6. Upload the file and certify that the contacts in the file have opted into communication. Then click continue.
7. Follow the prompts to complete the process.
Note: This process WILL NOT create contacts, so the contacts must already exists in the contact center. Errors will be presented if there are emails that are not in the contact center already.

- Click on View Contact Lists to view the Contact Lists page. You can now easily distribute a survey to the contacts in a list.
